Moist Chocolate Cake
2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1 cup warm water
1 cup room temperature water
For topping:
Chocolate syrup
Bar of pareve baking chocolate
3 teaspoons confectioner’s sugar
3 teaspoons water
3 teaspoons oil
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
2. Mix dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.
3. Add liquid ingredients, mix well with a mixer until blended.
4. Pour batter (it will be very liquidy) into a greased and floured bundt pan.
5. Bake for 1 hour, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
6. Let cake cool completely. Set on serving platter.
7. Spread chocolate syrup over the top of cake to cover.
8. Warm a block of baking chocolate by placing it in the oven for one minute. Using a vegetable
peeler, “peel” large strips of baking chocolate over the top of cake.
9. Mix equal amounts of confectioner’s sugar, water and oil to make a glaze. Drizzle over the top
of the cake.
